WHEREAS, on July 1, 1996, then President Fidel V. Ramos issued Executive Order No. 352 (EO 352) entitled Designation of Statistical Activities that will Generate Critical Data for Decision-making of the Government and Private Sector;

WHEREAS, EO 352 directed the government to adopt a system of designated statistics as the means of generating critical and essential data for administrators, planners and policy makers in the government and private sectors;

WHEREAS, the system of designated statistics enables the identification and generation of the most critical and essential statistics required for social and economic planning and analysis;

WHEREAS, said EO designated the formulation of a methodology for generating estimates of population projections to the Interagency Working Group on Population Projections (IAWG-PP)

WHEREAS, said EO mandated the National Statistics Office (NSO) to generate estimates of population projections using the methodology developed by the IAWG-PP;

WHEREAS, the National Statistical Coordination Board approved the above methodology and the resulting populations projection estimates for adoption by all concerned as the official figures to be utilized for planning and programming purposes;

WHEREAS, the estimated population projections generated by NSO are the only official population projections of the Philippine government;

WHEREAS, the use of standard population projections by all concerned is necessary for comparability, consistency and integrity of statistics produced by government;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, that the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee enjoin all agencies and institutions in the Cordillera Administrative Region to use the estimates on population projections being generated by NSO.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that this resolution be disseminated to all government agencies, provincial planning and development offices, municipal planning and development offices and local government executives.
