WHEREAS, one of the frameworks being maintained by the NSCB-CAR is the System of National Accounts (SNA) which include the Gross Regional Domestic Product;

WHEREAS, the GRDP measures the total output of goods and services within a region and is an indicator of the region’s economic performance;

WHEREAS, GRDP estimates are valuable inputs in development planning, policy formulation and monitoring activities;

WHEREAS, GRDP-CAR are computed annually by the NSCB-CAR based on data gathered from censuses and surveys of government offices, and administrative reports of government and private offices;

WHEREAS, this year the National Accounts of the Philippines (NAP) which includes the GRDP of our region will be rebased/revised using a new base year (now 2000 based) and will adopt the 1993/2008 System of National Accounts to be at par with the international standards;

WHEREAS, there is a need, therefore, for NSCB-CAR to update its database in preparation for this year’s rebasing and revision of the GRDP of our region;

WHEREAS, the support of data sources from the government and private sectors in the region is very crucial and important in coming up with accurate and reliable rebased and revised GRDP estimates for CAR for the period 1999-2009;

WHEREAS, the NSCB-CAR preserves the confidentiality of sensitive data through the release of aggregate estimates only;
