The Philippine Statistics Authority – Cordillera Administrative Region (PSA-CAR) released the CAR Physical Asset and Flow Accounts for Water Resources: 2008-2018 last November 25, 2022.
The CAR Physical Asset and Flow Accounts for Water Resources: 2008-2018 is the sixth report on environmental accounting of the Cordillera. Both the flow accounts and the more challenging stock accounts for water resources were compiled for the region.
The System of Environmental-Economic Accounting 2012 Central Framework (SEEA Central Framework) serves as the framework for the accounting activity.
The SEEA-Central Framework is a statistical framework made up of comprehensive sets of tables and accounts, which is used as a guide when compiling consistent and comparable statistics and indicators for analysis, research, and policymaking. The SEEA-Central Framework takes into account the changing requirements of its users, new environmental-economic accounting innovations, and methodological research advancements. The environmental accounting framework organizes data that support informed discussions and guide policies and programs related to the interrelationships between the economy and the environment.
PSA-CAR extends its utmost appreciation to the Task Force on Water Resources Accounting members for the data they provided and, more importantly, for their expertise, that significantly improved the process of compiling the water resources of the region. We will continue our collaborative efforts in building the region’s databank of environment statistics to support the preparation, monitoring and implementation of environmental programs and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
