The registered live births in Baguio City totaled 2,813 documents for the first semester of 2022.

The table shows that May recorded the highest with 559 birth records or 19.87 percent. March ranked in second with 489 birth record or 17.38 percent , followed by January with 454 which birth record or 16.14 percent. On the contrary, June contributed only 425 or 15.03 percent  was the lowest for the 1st semester 2022.

There were more males (1,458) born in the first semester of 2022 than females (1,355) resulting to a sex ratio of 108 males per 100 females. By month, June
reported the highest sex ratio with 124 males per 100 females followed by April and January with 119 and 111, respectively. On the contrary, February and May had the least sex ratio of 99 males per 100 females and 98males per 100 females, respectively.

The daily average birth in 2022 was 17, the month of May was the highest daily average birth with 20 babies.

Table 6 shows the legitimacy of  Baguio City from January to June 2022 that the total legitimate children is 1,392 . May recorded the highest registered legitimate children with 270 followed by April and March with 236 and 235 respectively, while the month of June  registered legitimate children of 213.

The illegitimate children recorded the month of May with 289 children followed by the month of March and January with 254 and 230 respectively, while the lowest registered illegitimate children was the month of June with 210 .

Registration Status

Of the 2,813 registered births in the city, 2,750 births or  97.76 percent were timely registered whereas the remaining 63 or 2.24 percent were late. May recorded the most number of timely documents in the city with 20 percent followed by March and January with 17.35 percent and 16.07 percent. June had the least number of timely registered documents with 413 total document recorded.

TECHNICAL NOTES

Daily Average refers to the arithmetic mean of birth occurrences per day.

Daily Index is the increase/decrease from the overall daily average of event occurrences.

Live Birth is a complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a product of conception,
irrespective of the duration of the pregnancy, which after such separation, breathes or shows any other evidence of life, such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord , or definite movement of voluntary  muscles, whether or not the umbilical cord has been cut or the placenta is attached ; each product of such a birth is considered liveborn.

Sex Ratio refers to the number of males per one hundred females.

Usual Residence refers to the place where the person habitually or permanently resides. 

Place of Occurrence refers to the place where the vital event took place. 

Legitimacy refers to the status of the child at birth Illegitimate or Legitimate.

Timely Birth refers to the registration of Live Birth  within the reglementary period of 30 days after birth of the child.

Late Registration refers to the registration of Live Birth beyond the reglementary period.
