The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Regional Statistical Services Office (RSSO)-Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR)-Benguet Provincial Statistical Office joins the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems (QMS), Internal Quality Audit (IQA) which was conducted by the three (3) representatives from the PSA-RSSO CAR and one (1) representative from Abra Provincial Statistical Office on 14 October 2024.

The ISO 9001:2015 specifies requirements for a quality management system when an organization: a) needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements; and b) aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

PSO Benguet’s Civil Registration section, Statistical Operations and Coordination section, Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), and Financial and Administrative Unit were visited to validate each process, and practices are in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
In addition, regular employees including the Contract of Service Workers (COSWs) were individually asked about their knowledge of the PSA’s Quality Policy, QMS. The Internal Auditors also reviewed and examined documents required by ISO 9001:2015.

Supervising Statistical Specialist, Mr. Jaeriel R. Bersamina, Accountant III, Mr. Rickson V. Bala-oy, Statistical Specialist II, Ms. Kay Angelika M. Castro, and Administrative Assistant I, Ms. Maria Larrem Bouvier A. Sab-it deliberated the results at the end of the IQA. PSO Benguet were compliant with the ISO 9001:2015 requirements with some areas being identified for Opportunity for Improvement (OFI) and Minor Nonconformity with No Major Nonconformity.
