Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Felixberto B. Perdido in a radio interview at 95.3 Radyo Natin – Bangued

Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Abra Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Felixberto recently engaged in a radio interview with Ms. Marjorie Bandayrel of Radyo Natin – Bangued on October 27, 2023, to shed light on the mandates, programs and services of the agency and about the celebration of 34th National Statistics Month (NSM).

The interview started with the greetings of CSS Perdido to all the listeners of the radio program. Ms. Bandayrel asked the CSS about what are the main functions or services offered by the agency. The CSS enumerated the mandates of agency namely: (1) Production of Quality General-Purpose Statistics in which the agency conducts different surveys and censuses to collect and produce data which will be used by the various stakeholders and users of data. The surveys enumerated include the Collection of prices for the Consumer’s Price Index (CPI), Labor Force Survey (LFS), Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI), Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (CAF), Farm Price Survey (FPS), among others; (2) Implementation of Civil Registration. The CSS mentioned that the province is very lucky because of the presence of the CRS outlet which caters the requests for SECPA copy documents and can be released within the day. He also mentioned that clients can also request their civil registry documents thru online thru psaserbilis.com.ph; (3) The Implementation of Republic Act No. 11055 otherwise known as the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Act of 2018. He told the listeners that the PhilSys Step 2 Registration is still ongoing together with the Issuance of Printable ePhilIDs at the PhilSys Fixed Registration Center and in the Mobile Registrations in the province. CSS Perdido encouraged those who are not yet registered in the PhilSys to register; and (4) Implementation of Republic Act 11315 otherwise known as the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Act of 2019. The CSS mentioned that two (2) municipalities had already received their 2022 CBMS Data namely: Daguioman and Danglas. The CSS expressed his gratitude to the respondents and Local Government Units of the said municipalities for their support.  The interview delved into PSA’s mandates and programs of the PSA Provincial Statistical Office and this year’s 34th National Statistical Month (NSM) celebration with the theme “Accelerating Progress: Promoting Data and Statistics for Healthy Philippines.”  PSA Abra Provincial Statistical Office conducted Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign in Tabangao Integrated School in Ampalioc, Luba, display of NSM tarpaulins, capacity building of personnel, and radio guesting to spread public awareness about the importance and value of statistics in our daily lives. The activity ended with CSS Perdido expressing his gratitude to all the listeners of the station.
