The Philippine Statistics Authority - Regional Statistical Services Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PSA-RSSO CAR) emerged as the Top Performing PSA Regional Office in the country during the 2018 PSA Field Awards Night held at the Heritage Hotel, Pasay  City on June 21, 2019. Region 8 (Eastern Visayas) ranked second, while MIMAROPA ranked third.

PSA-RSSO CAR Regional Director Villafe P. Alibuyog received the award as First Place among 17 PSA REgional Offices nationwide from PSA Assistand Secretary Daniel A. Ariaso Sr.
 

The Regional Office also garnered First Place in three special categories namely, Information Dissemination, Statistical Planning and Coordination, and Statistical Operations. Further, special awards were received by the office as Third Place in Civil Registration and Partnership and Linkages, Fifth Place in Statistical Framework and Indicator System. On the otherhand, the Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of Benguet bagged the First Place among all Provincial Statistical Offices nationwide, while PSO Mountain Province came in 12^th. This is indeed a back to back accomplishment for PSA-RSSO CAR as it has bested all other regions last year.

The PSA Awards Night was graced by the newly-appointed PSA National Statistician and Civil Registrar General Dr. Dennis S. Mapa and outgoing Undersecretary Dr. Lisa Grace S. Bersales.

The PSA Awards is conducted annually to evaluate the performance and recognize the accomplishments of the regional offices that made significant impacts in terms of delivering quality statistics and effecient civil registration services to clients and stake holders. This is to inspire PSA regions to continually improve and achieve the excellence in performing the agency's mandate, and for the regional staff to continue exemplifying the organization's core values and corporate personality.

In her acceptance speech, Director Alibuyog commended her staff for their commitment and efforts. She also thanked the line agencies and stakeholders of the Cordillera region for their support and cooperation to PSA.
