PSA-CAR Regional Director Villafe P. Alibuyog presented the role of the agency and its recent accomplishments during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas hosted by Philippine Information Agency (PIA) – CAR and anchored by PIA-CAR Regional Director Helen R. Tibaldo last 23 July 2024 at the PSA-CAR Conference Hall, Baguio City. This edition of the Kapihan featured the PSA regional offices and simultaneously conducted across the Philippines.

Director Alibuyog said that “PSA’s contributions to daily life are vast and varied in influencing decision-making, planning, resource allocation, and access to essential services for individuals, communities, businesses, and government entities across the Philippines. All these we plan to achieve with our mantra of solid, responsive, and world-class service to the Filipino people especially our fellow Cordillerans.”

She highlighted the data turnover ceremonies of the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), the conduct of the 2024 Census of Population – CBMS, the updates on the Birth Registration Assistance Program (BRAP), the 2023 economic growth of CAR, updates on the national ID, and some of PSA-CAR’s innovations that included the release CAR Physical Asset and Flow Accounts for Water Resources: 2008-2018 publication, the publication of the CAR Tourism Satellite Accounts Report: 2016-2021, and the Compendium on Tourism Statistics of CAR.

The panelists who joined Dir. Alibuyog were PSA-CAR OIC Chief Administrative Officer Juanito Y. Yabes, Chief Statistical Specialist Aldrin Federico R. Bahit, Jr., Registration Officer IV Gerard A. Tolito, and PSA Benguet Chief Statistical Specialist Imelda L. Buyuccan who presented further details on topics highlighted and presented.

PSA-CAR enjoins the public to support the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS and provide truthful information to the enumerators.  The enumeration started last 15 July 2024 and is expected to be completed by the end of September 2024.
