Luna, Apayao – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of Apayao successfully turned over the 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) data to the Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs) of Luna and Pudtol, Apayao during a ceremonial turnover on December 11, 2023 at the Municipal Town Hall, Luna, Apayao.

The activity is a significant milestone for the two municipalities as they lead the conduct of the said census in partnership with the PSA. Mayor Josephine M. Bangsil, Vice Mayor Manolito Bullaoit, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, and Department Heads of Luna and Pudtol participated the ceremony. Symbolically, the data in a flash drive was turned over to the municipal leaders and officials, who subsequently signed the data turnover agreement with stipulations on the strict data security protection pursuant to the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

 

 

Mayor Bangsil, Vice Mayor Bullaoit, and Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator (MPDC) Milflorence Villafuerte of LGU Luna; and MPDC Nelson Manuel, Information Technology Officer Silver Ian Dimaano, and Zoning Officer IV Norbert Abulencia of LGU Pudtol accepted the data with gratitude, assurance, and commitment to use it with utmost care and maximize its potential in their policymaking and program planning to help improve the lives of their constituents.

In addition, MPDC Villafuerte, and Mr. Abulencia presented their plans to be prioritized using the 2022 CBMS data, emphasizing the importance of data security in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012. Dr. Chowen Jay P. Arellano, Senior Statistical Specialist and CBMS Provincial Focal Person of PSO Apayao presented the highlights of the 2022 CBMS results of the two municipalities. He also underlined the need for consistent support from the local leaders to PSA surveys and censuses.

 

Mayor Bangsil expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Provincial Government of Apayao through Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr., PSA, and 2022 CBMS workforce of LGU Luna for their crucial role in helping achieve the community's aspirations to have a comprehensive data for their local planning. She emphasized that data is vital in identifying areas of concern in the locality and that the 2022 CBMS data will be extremely useful in development planning, policy formulation, and impact monitoring to their local government.

 

In behalf of the LGU of Pudtol, Mr. Dimaano announced that the 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System results are warmly accepted while thanking the PSA for organizing the event and for giving essential data that would aid and assist policymakers and leaders in developing initiatives in the municipality of Pudtol.

 

In his speech, CSS Calimuhayan expressed thanks to the Provincial LGU, and the leaders of Luna and Pudtol MLGUs for their support and contributions to the success of CBMS implementation in the province of Apayao. He said that he hoped that the data gathered will be fully utilized in their planning and operations.
