For the government to provide relevant and timely programs and projects in the Province of Abra, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Abra undertakes the compilation of the Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) by gathering necessary data requirements last March 1, 2022, in the 27 municipalities.
Such undertakings will help the province derive its Gross Domestic Product (GDP), providing the provincial policymakers and stakeholders the measure of the province's economic performance. Likewise, it will serve as a source of indicators to monitor the economic development or progress of the province. The said endeavor will strengthen the planning and decision-making of the government in developing informed policies, programs, and projects.
Chief Statistical Specialist Felixberto B. Perdido spearheaded the said activity together with Supervising Statistical Specialist Jaeriel R. Bersamina as the Focal Person and Adrienne Jaye R. Bigornia, Statistical Analyst (COSW).
Activities relative to the preparation of the compilation commenced earlier this year, such as onboarding, briefings, and workshops. The Province of Abra is one of the pilot provinces to generate its GDP through the compilation of the PPA.
PSA-Abra hoped that all partners and stakeholders commit their full cooperation, especially on submitting relevant, accurate, and timely data requirements.
