Civil Registration Month Quiz Bee conducted for LCROs and PSA Staff in Ifugao

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Ifugao Provincial Statistical Office recently conducted the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Quiz Bee for LCROs and PSA staffs at the 2 nd Floor, RTK Building, Poblacion South, Lagawe, Ifugao as part of the month-long celebration of the 33rd Civil Registration Month on 09 February 2023. In the morning, a quiz bee for the Local Civil Registry Office was conducted. It was attended by 9 participants, 5 were Municipal Civil Registrars and 4 were LCRO representatives. After the 45 questions, the winners were announced. Ms. Seling D. Gahid, MCR of Hingyon was declared the winner. The 2nd was a tie garnered by Ms. Delia P. Basilio of LCRO Lagawe, Ms. Maryknoll D. Dimmangna, and Ms. Arcelie A. Luzon of LCRO Alfonso Lista. Rowena Likiyan of LCRO Tinoc bagged the 3rd .

This competition aimed to raise responsiveness and progress their understanding of the significance of Civil Registration. It also includes situational questions on various queries and problems affecting the public in terms of obtaining civil registry documents and information dissemination relative to the data on CRVS.

In the afternoon, a lecture was conducted by Registration Officer II Bernadette B. Guledew on the Republic Act (R.A.) No. 11596, also known as An Act Prohibiting the Practice of Child Marriage and Imposing Penalties. Further, a quiz bee was also conducted for the PSA personnel to test their knowledge on civil registration.

The winner for the LCRO staff will advance to the Regional Quiz Bee on 15 February 2023. With this CRM year’s theme, PSA Ifugao Provincial Statistical Office is looking forward for the continuous support of the LCROs in "Providing Efficient and Effective Civil Registration and Vital Statistics through Digital Transformation".
