RO II Jonah Langpawen and RKO Ashel Paroway conducting national ID registration
Organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office - Cordillera Administrative Region, the Philippine Statistics Authority - Mountain Province, participated in the Project M.A.R.T.H.A (Mobilizing Advocates to Reach, to Transform, and to Help all in Need) on 27 June 2025 held at Poblacion, Paracelis. This activity aims to mobilize internal and external partners to deliver services to the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized constituents.
In support of the activity, Registration Officer II Jonah Lagpawen introduced the available services offered by the PSA. Among these services are the following:
• National ID registration;
• Updating of demographic information;
• Issuance of national ID in paper form;
• Transaction reference number (TRN) retrieval; and
• Assistance in accessing the digital national ID
Relatively, she shared the different processes of the national ID registration. Residents who undergone step 1 registration or the collection of demographic information and setting an appointment must complete the step 2 registration which include onsite capturing of the registrant’s demographic and biometric information. Likewise, proper procedures for registrant who did not yet receive their national ID was fully explained to avoid double registration. She said that the digital national ID may also be generated through the eGov application. Unfortunately, this is only applicable to 15 years old and above. Langpawen emphasized that any format of the national ID must be accepted as valid proof of identity and age when transacting, either in private or public entities.
With the presence of different offices, Langpawen briefly explained the national ID Authentication Services and its benefits. She encouraged them to approach the office and prepare the necessary requirements to register and be fully onboarded.
The activity was successfully carried out with a total of 37 registered individuals, 6 updated their demographic information, 1 issued national ID in paper form, and 6 availed for TRN retrieval.
Langpawen is grateful to the support of the community, Local Government Units and partner agencies who continuously contribute to the implementation of National ID System. The Philippine Statistics Authority also commit to strengthen awareness of the national ID acceptance to prevent cases of rejections during transactions and realize its goal for an inclusive identification.
