Registered Marriages in Mountain Province in the Second Quarter of 2022 is 166
Based on the result of the tabulation from the Decentralized Vital Statistics System (DVSS) of the Philippine Statistics Authority, registered marriages in Mountain Province during the 3rd quarter of 2022 reached 166. This is 10.75 percent lower than the registered marriages in the same quarter of 2021 recorded at 186. In the same quarter of 2020, the registered marriages in the province is 120.
About Two in Every Ten Marriages in Mountain Province are Recorded in Bauko
According to records by municipality, Bauko recorded the highest number of marriages in the 3rd quarter of this year at 34 which is 20.48 percent of the total marriages listed in the province. This means that about 2 in every 10 marriages in Mountain Province are recorded in this municipality. This is followed closely by Bontoc at 33 marriages or 19.88 percent of the total and Tadian at 23 or 13.86 percent.
Almost All Registered Marriages in the Province are Registered Timely
Of the total registered marriages in the province for the 3rd quarter of 2022, 161 or 96.99 percent are registered timely. Ideally, marriage shall be registered in the office of the Local Civil Registrar of the place where it was solemnized within 15 days from the date of celebration. However, a 30-day reglementary period is set by law for marriages of exceptional character. All other marriages who were not registered within the period for registration are considered late.
It is only the municipalities of Paracelis, Sagada and Tadian who have late registrations.
About Seven in Every Ten Marriages are Solemnized Thru Civil Wedding
According to the type of ceremony, 70.48 percent of the total marriages are civil weddings. This means that almost 7 in every 10 marriages registered in the 3rd quarter of this year are civil weddings. 34 marriages or 20.48 percent are solemnized by other religious rites. The remaining percentage is either blessed by the Roman Catholic Church or tribal weddings.
About Two in Every Ten Civil Weddings in the Province Occurred in Bontoc
Of the 117 civil weddings registered in Mountain Province in the 3rd quarter, 26 or 22.22 percent happened in Bontoc; 25 marriages or 21.37 percent occurred in Tadian and 16 marriages or 13.68 percent were solemnized in Natonin..
It is observed that there are 2 tribal marriages that occurred in the province specifically in Sagada. There were no marriages solemnized by the Roman Catholic Church in Besao and Sagada while the most number sanctified by other religious rites are listed in Paracelis and Tadian with 9 marriages each.
About One in Every Three Grooms is 25 to 29 years Old
According to the groom’s age, majority of the gentlemen who got married in the 3rd quarter of 2022 are under the age group 25 to 29 years with 55 men that accounted to 33.13 percent of all the grooms in the province. They are followed by age groups 30 to 34 years at 23.49 percent and 20 to 24 years at 21.69 percent. The combined number of these three age groups comprised 78.31 percent of all the grooms in Mountain Province in the quarter. According to single year, the highest number of grooms are aged 25 years old and the oldest gentleman who got married during the quarter is 56 years old.
About Three in Every Ten Grooms Aged 25 to 29 Years are Registered in Bontoc
Of the 55 gentlemen in the province who got married in the 3rd quarter of the year and are aged 25 to 29 years, 27.27 percent are registered in Bontoc. This means that about 3 in every 10 grooms aged 25 to 29 years in the province are listed in this municipality.
