Registered Marriages in Mountain Province in the First Semester of 2022 is 464
Based on the result of the tabulation from the Decentralized Vital Statistics System (DVSS) of the Philippine Statistics Authority, registered marriages in Mountain Province during the 1st semester of 2022 reached 464. This is 41.03 percent higher than the registered marriages in the same semester of 2021 recorded at 329. In the same semester of 2020, the registered marriages in the province is 282.
About One in Every Four Marriages in Mountain Province is Recorded in Paracelis
According to records by municipality, Paracelis recorded the highest number of marriages in the 1st semester of this year at 110 which is 23.71 percent of the total marriages listed in the province. This means that about 1 in every 4 marriages in Mountain Province is recorded in this municipality. This is followed by Bauko at 92 marriages or 19.83 percent of the total and Tadian at 65 or 14.01 percent.
Almost All Registered Marriages in the Province are Registered Timely
Of the total registered marriages in the province for the 1st semester of 2022, 452 or 97.41 percent are registered timely. Ideally, marriage shall be registered in the office of the Local Civil Registrar of the place where it was solemnized within 15 days from the date of celebration. However, a 30-day reglementary period is set by law for marriages of exceptional character. All other marriages who were not registered within the period for registration are considered late.
Registered marriages in Barlig, Besao, Natonin and Sadanga are all registered timely.
About Five in Every Ten Marriages are Solemnized Thru Civil Wedding
According to the type of ceremony, 49.35 percent of the total marriages are civil weddings. This means that almost 5 in every 10 marriages registered in the 1st semester of this year are civil weddings. 144 marriages or 31.03 percent are solemnized by other religious rites. The remaining percentage is either blessed by the Roman Catholic Church or tribal weddings.
About Two in Every Ten Civil Weddings in the Province Occurred in Bauko
Of the 229 civil weddings registered in Mountain Province, 46 or 20.09 percent happened in Bauko; 39 marriages or 17.03 percent occurred in Tadian and 33 marriages or 14.41 percent were solemnized in Sagada.
It is observed that the highest number of marriages solemnized by the Roman Catholic Church happened in Paracelis while the most number sanctified by other religious rites are still listed in this municipality.
About Four in Every Ten Grooms are 25 to 29 years Old
According to the groom’s age, majority of the gentlemen who got married in the 1st semester of 2022 are under the age group 25 to 29 years with 182 men that accounted to 39.22 percent of all the grooms in the province. They are followed by age groups 30 to 34 years at 24.35 percent and 20 to 24 years at 21.55 percent. The combined number of these three age groups comprised 85.13 percent of all the grooms in Mountain Province in the quarter.
The oldest groom is 66 years old.
About Two in Every Ten Grooms Aged 25 to 29 Years are Registered in Paracelis
Of the 182 gentlemen in the province who got married in the 1st semester of the year and are aged 25 to 29 years, 21.98 percent are registered in Paracelis. This means that about 2 in every 10 grooms aged 25 to 29 years in the province are listed in this municipality.
About Five in Every Ten Grooms in Mountain Province are Roman Catholic
According to groom’s religion, majority of them are Roman Catholic as they comprised 45.69 percent of the total registered grooms in the province in the 1st semester of 2022. Of these grooms, 21.70 percent are from Paracelis while 17.92 percent hail from Bauko and 14.62 percent are from Tadian.
About Four in Every Ten Brides are 25 to 29 Years Old
Of the 464 registered brides in Mountain Province in the 1st semester of this year, 177 or 38.15 percent are 25 to 29 years old. This is followed by age groups 20 to 24 years old at 32.54 percent and 30 to 34 years old at 15.09 percent. Their combined share comprises 85.78 percent of all the brides in the province. It is also observed that the oldest bride that got married during the semester is 60 years old.
About One in Every Four Brides Aged 25 to 29 Years is from Bauko
By municipality, the highest number of brides aged 25 to 29 years is registered in Bauko with 45 brides which is 25.42 percent of the total brides in the province of this age. This is followed by Paracelis at 15.82 percent.
