Corn production from January to June 2021 reached 18,803 metric tons, which represents a drop of 14.6 percent from its level in the same period of previous year of 22,030.40 metric tons. In 2020, production registered the highest during the reference semester of 2019 to 2021. (Figure 1, and Tables 1 to 3).

- Corn output for the 2021 six-month reference period was produced largely during the second quarter with a record of 16,825.00 metric tons or 89.5 percent. The remaining 1,978.00 metric tons or 10.5 percent output was produced from the first quarter. (Figure 2, and Tables 1 to 3)

Total corn harvest area from January to June 2021 was 4,246.00 hectares. It contracted by 45 hectares or 1.0 percent from previous year’s same period level of 4,291.00 hectares. By quarter, the large part of the area was recorded on the second quarter. (Figure 3, and Tables 1 to 3)

Yield per hectare during the current period decreased to 4.43 metric tons or higher by 13.7 percent from the same period a year ago of 5.13 metric tons, the highest from 2019 to 2021. By quarter, yield per hectare was higher in the second quarter of 2020 and 2021 than the first quarter of the same years. (Figure 4, and Tables 1 to 3)

Yellow corn production shared 99.8 percent to the total output during the reference period in 2021, 99.2 percent in 2020, and 98.7 percent in 2019. (Figure 5 and Table 3)
