Provincial focal persons for the Survey on Costs and Returns (SCR) from the six Provincial Statistics Offices of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) joined in the Data Review and Validation Workshop on the Results of the February 2023 Round SCR on Palay Production last 02 to 05 May 2023 at the Ritz Hotel, Legarda Road, Baguio City.

The workshop aims to ensure the quality of statistics gathered from agricultural statistics surveys, specifically on the Survey on Costs and Returns (SCR) of Palay Production gathered for the reference period July to December 2022. The review was led by Senior Statistical Specialist Ma. Gina V. De Guzman and Statistical Analyst Osvaldo P. Cofolan of PSA-CAR.

The SCR is one of the agricultural surveys conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) to generate data on the cost structure of palay production, and average use of materials and labor inputs, measures of profitability, and other socio-economic characteristics of palay farming in the country. The estimates generated from the survey serves as benchmark data for the annual updating of the database on costs and returns of palay production.
