Construction Statistics from approved building permits aim to provide monthly administrative-based data on building construction at the municipality level nationwide. The construction statistics generated pertains to construction of residential and non-residential buildings and other structures.

Total collection for the fourth quarter of 2019 reached to 58 ABPs

The total collection of approved building permits for the fourth quarter of 2019 was 58. The construction occupied a floor area of 9,196 square meters with total value of Php 55, 282,990. Residential type got the highest number of projects among construction types with 47 projects. The constructions have a floor area of 4,322 square meters and total value of Php 32,070,420. There were eight ABPs recorded for non-residential type which occupied a floor area of 4,802 and total cost of Php 22,180,160. One addition project reflected an amount of Php 412,740.00 with a floor area of 72 square meters. The two constructions under alteration/ repair generated a total value of 619,670.00.

Number of collections in the fourth quarter of 2019 had decreased by 36.73 percent as compared to the collection in fourth quarter of 2018
 
The collection of approved building permits in the fourth quarter of 2019 had decreased by 37.63 percent as assimilated to the collection of ABPs in the same quarter of 2018. From 93 ABPs in 2018 to 58 in the fourth quarter of 2019. Residential type was down by 38.96 percent from 77 in the fourth quarter of 2018 to 47 construction in the same quarter of 2019. The 13 constructions under non-residential in the fourth quarter of 2018 had decreased to eight projects in the same quarter of 2019 or 39.46% decline. Two addition projects in the fourth quarter of 2018 were recorded: it has decreased to one project as compared to same quarter of 2019 while construction under alteration increase from one project in 2018 to two projects in the fourth quarter of 2019.

Residential type had the highest number of collection with 81 percent of the total collection in the fourth quarter of 2019
 
The 47 residential projects contributed the largest percentage of the total collection in the fourth quarter of 2019 with 81 percent. Followed by non-residential type with 8 construction or 14 percent of the total. One addition project represented two percent of the total collection in the fourth quarter of 2019. Projects under alteration/ repair got two construction or three percent of the total ABPs in the fourth quarter of 2019.

Residential type building has an average cost per square meter of Php 7,420.27; Php 4,618.94 for non-residential

The average cost of residential type building was Php 7,420.27 per square meter with the floor area of 4,322 square meters and Php 32,070,420 project cost. Non-residential building occupied a floor area of 4,802 with Php 2,180,160 total cost. The average cost per square meter of non-residential was Php 4,618.94. Projects under addition was Php 5,732.50 average cost per square meter. Altered construction does not have data on average cost because no record for the floor area of projects under alteration and repair.

 

Pudtol notched the highest number of issued ABPs with 14 projects in the fourth quarter of 2019.

For the fourth quarter of 2019, five municipalities have issued approved building permits namely; Calanasan, Flora, Luna, Pudtol and Santa Marcela. Conner and Kabugao have no issuance during the fourth quarter of 2019 but submitted certification of no ABPs issued.

Among the municipalities that have submitted ABPs, Pudtol had the highest number of collections with 14 construction. The floor area of the projects were 1,079 square meters with Php 9,852,740. Followed by Luna with 13 buildings occupying 5,100 square meters and total value of Php 19,828,000. Flora and Santa Marcela have the same number of issuances with 11 constructions. The 11 buildings in Flora have floor area of 1,232 square meters with Php 15,136,590 while in Santa Marcela occupied 591 square meters and total value of Php 6,348,530. Calanasan had the lowest number of ABPs issued for the fourth quarter of 2019 with nine projects. The floor area of the projects were 1,194 square meters with Php 4,117,130 total value.
