The Philippine Statistics Authority – Cordillera Administrative Region (PSA-CAR) recently conducted the 28th Philippine Statistics Quiz last November 08, 2024 at Teatro Amianan, University of the Philippines Baguio, Governor Pack Road, Baguio City.

The Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) is a national annual contest designed to assess the statistical knowledge of freshmen enrolled in colleges and universities across the country's 17 regions. A total of 18 contestants from different Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Cordillera competed in the said event.

The PSQ consisted of three rounds equivalent to one point for each question answered correctly in the first two rounds, and two points for each correct answer in the third round. Each round consisted of ten questions. However, only the contestants with cumulative scores of at least 10 points for the first two rounds were qualified to proceed to the third and final round. The questions for the three rounds were mostly statistical computations.

A contestant from the University of the Philippines Baguio bagged the championship while two contestants from Saint Louis University won second and third places. The names of the winners and their coaches were as follows:

Mr. Carl Joseph T. Secusana will be the representative of CAR competing for the upcoming 28th Philippine Statistics Quiz National Finals that will be held on December 05, 2024, in Metro Manila.
