In line with the Proclamation No. 682 declared the month of February of every year as Civil Registration Month an Office Memorandum No. 2023 – 01 released on January 13, 2022 and its subject to 2023 Civil Registration Month Celebration with the theme: “PSA @10: Providing Efficient and Effective Civil Registration and Vital Statistics through Digital Information”. The PSA Regional Office is mandated to uphold and continuously improve Civil Registration and Vital Statistics by conducting activities to promote and spread awareness on Civil Registration in the locality.

The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PSA-RSSO CAR) spearheaded the kick-off celebration of the 2023 Civil Registration Month with a motorcade around Baguio City last February 15, 2023. The activity aims to promote, expand, and instill awareness and appreciation on Civil Registration among the other agencies and the public.

The starting area is at Baguio Convention Center, then went through the central business district and Burnham Lake Drive, culminating at Fortune Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant, Baguio City where the IACCRVS meeting was held.

It was attended by different agencies like Department of Health (DOH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) and Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM).

The quarterly Inter-Agency Committee on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (IACCRVS) Meeting followed after the motorcade. Other activities planned for Civil Registration Month already done prior to this activity, such as hanging of streamers, invited as a guest during the opening Civil Registration Month at Baguio City Hall, and 3rd National Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Quiz Bee – Regional Elimination for Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs). Different Civil Registration Month activities continuously conducted like Information, Education, and Communication campaigns, mobile registration, Free issuance of Civil Registry Documents, and other activities scheduled for the whole month of February 2023.
