2023 Civil Registration Month Celebration Kicks Off with a Motorcade

The Philippine Statistics Authority- Abra Provincial Statistical Office spearheaded the kick off celebration of the 2023 Civil Registration Month (CRM) in the province with a motorcade around Bangued, the capital town, together with the 27 Municipal Civil Registrars (MCRs) on February 3, 2023. It aims to raise public awareness of the value and importance of civil registration in leading better lives and promoting community development. The theme for the 33rd CRM celebration is
“PSA @10: Providing Efficient and Effective Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Through Digital Transformation”.
The monthly meeting of MCRs followed after the motorcade. Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Quiz Bee provincial elimination of LCRO personnel was conducted on the same day. MCR Jessy Daoaten of Luba emerged as the champion. MCR Rebecca Talingdan of Pilar ranked 2nd place and two MCRs namely Mary Anne Timbreza of Tayum and Febe Flores of La Paz tied on the 3rd place.
Other events planned for this month include the hanging of streamers, Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign, poster making contest, mobile registration, and mass weddings which will be organized by the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) in the province.
