TABUK CITY, KALINGA – 15 JULY 2024. The Philippine Statistics Authortiy (PSA) – Kalinga urged every yKalinga to actively participate in the simultaneous roll-out of the 2024 Census of Population (POPCEN) and Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Household Data Collection and Geotagging. Starting on July 15, 2024, there were over 200 hired Enumerators deployed to conduct house-to-house data collection in the province.
The POPCEN involves the comprehensive process of gathering, compiling, evaluating, analyzing, publishing, and disseminating data about the population in the country. It is designed to provide a complete inventory of the total population in the Philippines, down to the barangay level. On the other hand, the CBMS is an organized, technology-driven system for collecting, processing, and validating essential disaggregated data at the local level. This data serves as a basis for targeting households in planning, budgeting, and implementation of government programs aimed at poverty alleviation and economic development.
As part of the nationwide roll-out, PSA Kalinga paved the way along the Bulanao to Dagupan route for the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS roadshow on the first day of enumeration. This activity aims to inform the constituents of the need to participate in the said undertaking. The hired personnel of every city and municipality were trained simultaneously in two batches from July 1–13, 2024, at various training centers in the City of Tabuk. Through the intensive preparatory activities, PSA Kalinga is all set to start its enumeration with Computer-Assisted Personal Interviews (CAPI) instead of the traditional paper and pen data collection.
Sa POPCEN at CBMS, kasama ka sa pag-unlad tungo sa makabagong Pilipinas!
