Marriage Ceremonies in the Region increased by eight percent

• There were 1,624 registered marriages in the Cordillera Administrative Region during the 3rd Quarter of 2022,  showing an increase of eight percent from the same quarter of last year’s figure of 1,504.
• Across all provinces, Abra has the highest percentage growth at 53.9 percent from the 3^rd quarter of 2022 to the same period last year. This was followed by the province of Apayao with 23.5 percent.
• Three provinces in the Region decreased in the number of registered marriages from 3rd Quarter of 2021 to 3rd Quarter of 2022. Ifugao had the biggest decrease in the number of recorded marriages with 36.6 percent. While, Kalinga had the lowest decrease with 7.4 percent.
• Of all the Provinces,  Benguet excluding Baguio City had the most number of recorded marriages, making up 29 in every 100 marriages in the Region. It was followed by  Kalinga  with 12 per 100 registered marriages.
• Almost 18 marriages on the average were solemnized daily in the region for this quarter.
• Apayao had the least recorded marriages with 6 in every 100 marriages in the Region.

Marriages Peak in August

• Almost seven marriages were solemnized daily on the average for the  month of August having the most recorded marriages in the region.
• There were 573 registered marriages that were registered in July, whereas 450 marriages were recorded in September.

Majority of the marriages in the Region were in the Municipalities of Benguet

• Baguio City has the highest percentage of marriages recorded among the two cities in the Region at 23.2 percent,  City of Tabuk follows with 6.2 percent.
• The Benguet municipalities have the greatest percentage of registered marriages in the Region. La Trinidad with 9.9 percent, Itogon with 3.6 percent, Tuba with 3.57 percent, and Buguias and Mankayan with 2.6 percent and 2.46 percent respectively.

• The province of Abra has the most municipalities with a low number of marriages registered, ranging from 1 to 5, as of the third quarter of 2022.
