Registered Marriages in Mountain Province in the First Quarter of 2023 is 229

Based on the result of the tabulation from the Decentralized Vital Statistics System (DVSS) of the Philippine Statistics Authority, registered marriages in Mountain Province during the 1st quarter of 2023 reached 229. This is 12.81 percent higher than the registered marriages in the same quarter of 2022 recorded at 203. In the first quarter of 2021, the registered marriages in the province are 110.

About 3 in Every 10 Marriages in Mountain Province are Recorded in Bauko

According to records by municipality, Paracelis recorded the highest number of marriages in the 1st quarter of this year at 63 which is 27.51 percent of the total marriages listed in the province. This means that about 3 in every 10 marriages in Mountain Province are recorded in this municipality. This is followed by Paracelis at 43 marriages or 18.78 percent of the total and Tadian at 32 or 13.97 percent.
 

Almost All Registered Marriages in the Province are Registered Timely

Of the total registered marriages in the province for the 1st quarter of 2023, 226 or 98.69 percent are registered timely. Ideally, marriage shall be registered in the office of the Local Civil Registrar of the place where it was solemnized within 15 days from the date of celebration. However, a 30-day reglementary period is set by law for marriages of exceptional character. All other marriages who were not registered within the period for registration are considered late.
 
It is only Paracelis and Sadanga that have late registrations for the quarter.
 

About 6 in Every 10 Marriages are Solemnized Thru Civil Wedding

According to the type of ceremony, 55.46 percent of the total marriages are civil weddings. This means that almost 6 in every 10 marriages registered in the 1st quarter of this year are civil weddings. 59 marriages or 25.76 percent are solemnized by other religious rites. The remaining percentages are either blessed by the Roman Catholic Church or tribal weddings.

About 1 in Every 4 Civil Weddings in the Province Occurred in Bauko

Of the 127 civil weddings registered in Mountain Province in the 1st quarter of 2023, 31 or 24.41 percent happened in Bauko; 17 marriages or 13.39 percent occurred in Bontoc and 16 marriages or 12.60 percent each were solemnized in Natonin and Paracelis.
It is observed that there are 2 tribal marriages that occurred in the province during the quarter. In like manner, the highest number of marriages solemnized by the Roman Catholic Church happened in Bauko while the most number sanctified by other religious rites are listed in the municipality of Paracelis.
 

About 4 in Every 10 Grooms are 25 to 29 years Old

According to the groom’s age, majority of the gentlemen who got married in the 1st quarter of 2023 are under the age group 25 to 29 years with 89 men that accounted to 38.86 percent of all the grooms in the province. They are followed by age groups 30 to 34 years at 24.02 percent and 20 to 24 years at 17.03 percent. The combined number of these three age groups comprised 79.91 percent of all the grooms in Mountain Province in the quarter.
 
The oldest groom is 68 years old.
 

About 1 in Every 4 Grooms Aged 25 to 29 Years is Registered in Bauko

Of the 89 gentlemen in the province who got married in the 1st quarter of the year and are aged 25 to 29 years, 23.60 percent are registered in Bauko. This means that about 1 in every 4 grooms aged 25 to 29 years in the province is listed in this municipality.
 

About Four in Every Ten Grooms in Mountain Province are Roman Catholic

According to groom’s religion, majority of them are Roman Catholic as they comprised 43.67 percent of the total registered grooms in the province in the 1st quarter of 2023. Of these grooms, 30 percent are from Bauko, 14 percent hail from Paracelis and 13 percent are from Bontoc.

About Four in Every Ten Brides are 25 to 29 Years Old

Of the 229 registered brides in Mountain Province in the 1st quarter of this year, 88 or 38.43 percent are 25 to 29 years old. This is followed by age groups 20 to 24 years old at 24.45 percent and 30 to 34 years old at 17.47 percent. Their combined share comprises 80.35 percent of all the brides in the province.
 
It is also observed that the oldest bride who got married during the quarter is 65 years old.

About 1 in Every 3 Brides Aged 25 to 29 Years is from Bauko

By municipality, the highest number of brides aged 25 to 29 years are registered in Bauko with 27 brides which is 33.75 percent of the total brides in the province of this age. This is followed by Bontoc at 15 percent.
