The Regionall Statistical Coordination Committee - Cordillera Administrative Region (RSCC- CAR) held its 1st Quarter 2007 meeting last April 16, 2007 at the Regional Development Council Hall. The meeting was presided by the Chair, Dir. Juan B. Ngalob of the National Economic and Development Authority - Cordillera Administrative Region (NEDA - CAR). He was assisted by Mr. Benjamin Y. Navarro, head of the National Statistical Coordination Board - Cordillera Administrative Region (NSCB - CAR) and secretary of RSCC - CAR. A total of thirteen(13) memeber-agencies participated.
In said meeting, the Committee passed five(5) resolutions that addressed the various aspects of the regional statistical system ranging from budgetary thrusts to the 2007 Census. Updates were also given regarding the resolutions of current statistical issues such as on tourism and disaster statistics. Mr. Aldrin Federico R. Bahit of NSCB-CAR presented the report of the Task Force on Tourism Statistics while Mr. Navarro discussed updates on disaster statistics. Ms. Imelda Buyuccan of the National Statistics Office - CAR presented the general plans for the conduct of 2007 Census of Population. The need to capture indigenous peoples' concern through the POPCEN was raised during the meeting.
The Resolutions were as follows:
- Approval of the Development Thusts of the CAR Statistical System for CY 2008-2010.
- Approval and Addoption of the 2007 Policy Agenda of the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee - Cordillera Administrative Region.
- Enjoining all Concerned Agencies to use Offical Philippine Population projections
- Enjoining the NSO to Capture Statistics on Indigenous Peoples Concerns during the 2007 Census of Population
- Enjoining all Government Departments, Agencies and Instrumentalities as well as Non-Government Organizations and the Private Sector to support the conduct of the 2007 census
