PSA-Benguet and City/Municipal Civil Registrars of Baguio and Benguet held Productive Monthly Meeting and Workshop at Um-A Farms, Km.9, Asin Road, Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet.

TUBA, BENGUET – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Benguet, in collaboration with the City and Municipal Civil Registrars of Baguio and Benguet, successfully conducted their monthly meeting and workshop at Um-A Farms, Km. 9, Asin Road, Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet, on March 27, 2025. The event focused on strengthening partnerships among civil registrars and enhancing public service delivery to residents across the province.

 

The program began with opening remarks from Digno M. Valentin, Municipal Civil Registrar (MCR) of Mankayan and Vice President of the Association of Baguio-Benguet Civil Registrars (ABBCR). He spoke on behalf of Imelda L. Buyuccan, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA – Benguet, who was unable to attend. Valentin emphasized the importance of continuous collaboration and the improvement of civil registration services to meet the evolving needs of the public.

 

“This event is crucial for us as City/Municipal Civil Registrars. It offers a platform to establish common standards, share knowledge, and learn from one another, especially since we work closely with essential documents,” said Valentin.

 

In addition, the workshop featured a range of activities, including a review of the previous meeting and a discussion of issues and concerns raised by each municipality, led by Felicitas A. Anacioco, MCR of Sablan.

 

Furthermore, Jovieline L. Ambojon, Registration Officer I, facilitated an in-depth session on the outstanding Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) Manual, providing important updates and clarifications necessary for its consistent implementation across municipalities. Tagaban C. Aquino, Registration Officer II, also conducted a session on the business rules for annotating Civil Registry Documents (CRDs) issued by Regional Trial Courts (RTCs).

 

The event concluded with closing remarks from Luz L. Perez, City Civil Registrar of Baguio. In her address, Perez expressed her gratitude to all attendees for their active participation and emphasized the importance of collaboration and communication among civil registrars to ensure the effective delivery of civil registration services.

 

Through these continued efforts, PSA-Benguet and the civil registrars are committed to modernizing the civil registration system, improving public access to vital records, and ensuring the integrity and reliability of documents essential for personal and legal identification across the province.
