Data on marriages presented in this special release were obtained from the Office of the City/Municipal Registrars throughout the region and submitted to the Philippine Statistics Authority - Regional Statistical Services Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PSA-RSSO CAR) through the Decentralized Vital Statistics System (DVSS) 2022 and 2021 of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Provincial Offices (POs) of the Cordillera Region. Information presented included marriages registered in the 1st quarter 2022 and in 1st quarter 2021. Figures presented herein are still preliminary and may differ in the final counts.
Registered Marriages Increased by 51 percent year-on-year
- A total of 2,886 marriages in the Cordillera Administrative Region were registered in the 1st quarter of 2022 indicating an increase of 51 percent from the same quarter of last year’s figure of 1,906.
- From the first quarter of 2022 to the same period last year, the number of registered marriages in the Region shows an increase in all provinces. With a 128 percent, Abra has the biggest percentage increase. While, Ifugao has the lowest percentage increase of 24 percent.
- On the average, for this quarter, 32 marriages were solemnized daily in the region or 1 marriage being officiated every hour.
- The Province of Benguet excluding Baguio City had the most number of registered marriages, accounting for 29 out of every 100 marriages in the Region. Abra with 18 per 100 marriages came second.
- Apayao had the least recorded marriages with 198 or 6.9 percent in the region.

Most Grooms and Brides were married between the ages of 25 – 29 years old
- For the 1st quarter of 2022, most brides and grooms in the Cordillera Administrative Region belong to the age group 25-29 with 36.2 percent and 35.9 percent respectively.
- Two out of every twenty-five registered marriages occur between the ages 15-19 years old.
- 1 in every 10 marriages in CAR belong to the seniors sixty years old and over.
- The youngest age that a bride got married was 15 while the oldest age was 70. Whereas for grooms, the youngest age at which they married was 18, and 84 being the oldest.

Six out of Twenty Five Marriages in CAR is through Roman Catholic Ceremonies
- Civil rites officiated more than half of all marriages in CAR, accounting for the greatest number of recorded marriages among other types of ceremony.
- 6 out of 25 recorded marriages in the region is though Roman Catholic ceremonies.
- There were a total of 669 marriages solemnized under other religious ceremonies, while muslim marriage with 4 registered marriages.

Cities/Municipalities with the Highest Number of Marriages Registration
- Among the cities in the Region, Baguio City has the larger share on the number of registered marriages with 474, followed by City of Tabuk with 131 marriages.
- The highest number of marriages registered in the Region are mostly recorded from the municipalities of Benguet. La Trinidad with the highest with 202 marriages, followed by Tuba with 128 or 4 percent.

- The province of Abra has the most municipalities with the lowest number of registered marriages, ranging from 2 to 7 for the 1st quarter of 2022.
