October 2013 marks the 24th celebration of the National Statistics Month (NSM) pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647 signed by then President Corazon C. Aquino on September 20, 1990, "Declaring the Month of October of Every Year as the National Statistics Month." The objectives of the NSM are twofold: (1) to promote, enhance and instill nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society; and (2) to elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standards of statistics in the country.
This year’s theme for the 24th NSM is Statistics that Matter to Every Filipino.
Regional line agencies, local government units, the academe and the private sector are invited to participate in the activities to be conducted during the month-long celebration organized and led by the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee – Cordillera Administrative Region (RSCC-CAR) as follows:
