Registered Live Birth


There were 5,477 reported actual live births in Kalinga for 2024. Out of the total, 50.85 percent or 2,785 were male while 49.15 percent or 2,692 were female. In terms of residence of the mother, the City of Tabuk reported the highest number of female babies born with 1,825 or 67.79 percent of the total female babies born in Kalinga. It was followed by the municipalities of Pinukpuk with a reported 265 or 9.84 percent and Tinglayan with 165 or 6.13 percent. The municipalities of Tanudan and Pasil reported the lowest number of female babies born with 45 or 1.67 percent and 46 or 1.71 percent respectively. (Figure 1)

 

The City of Tabuk reported the highest number of male babies in 2024 with 1,994 or 71.60 percent of the total male reported in Kalinga. Next in rank was the municipality of Pinukpuk with 240 or 8.62 percent. It was followed by municipalities of Rizal with 166 or 5.96 percent and Tinglayan with 118 or 4.24 percent. The municipalities of Pasil and Tanudan reported the lowest number of male babies born with 25 or 0.90 percent and 35 or 1.26 percent, respectively. (Figure 1)


Out of the total 2,692 female babies born in 2024, 285 or 10.59 percent were born in the month of April. It was followed by months of May with 280 or 10.40 percent, September 240 or 8.92 and January with 235 or 8.73 of the totals. The months February and December had the lowest number of female babies born with 173 or 6.43 percent and 183 or 6.80 percent out of the total. (Figure 2)


Of the total number of males registered in Kalinga, the month of January had the highest number of male babies born with 279 or 10.02 percent. It was followed by the months of May with 263 or 9.44 percent and April with 254 or 9.12 percent of the total. The month of February had the lowest number of male babies with 187 or 6.71 percent. (Figure 2)

 

 

Registered Death


Out of the total 1,250 recorded actual deaths registered in Kalinga in 2024, 716 or 57.28 percent were male while 534 or 42.72 percent were female. Among the eight (8) city/municipalities in Kalinga, Tabuk City had the highest number of male and female registered deaths with 483 and 335 respectively. The municipality of Tanudan had the least number of registered deaths with 11 male deaths reported and 11 female deaths reported. (Figure 3)

 

 

The month of January had the highest number of male registered deaths with 80 or 11.17 percent of the total male registered deaths while for female registered deaths it was on the month of February with 61 or 11.42 percent of the total female registered deaths. The month of February had the lowest registered death in male and December for female with 52 and 30 deaths reported respectively. (Figure 4)

 

 

TECHNICAL NOTES


Live Birth- This refers to the complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a product of conception, irrespective of the duration of the pregnancy, which after such separation, breathes or shows any other evidence of life.


Marriage- This is a special contract of permanent union between a man and a woman entered into in accordance with law for the establishment of conjugal and family life.
 

Death- This refers to the permanent disappearance of all evidence of life at any time after live birth has taken place.


Data from this Special Release was taken from the reports submitted by Local Civil Registry Office from eight (8) municipalities in Kalinga.
