BIRTH STATISTICS

The number of registered births in Kalinga in 2024 summed up to 5,476 showing a decrease of 987 or 15.27 percent birth occurrences from the 2023 figure of 6, 463. During the year, there was a daily birth occurrence of 15 or about five (5) babies born every 8 hours.

May was the month with the highest number of registered live births. Births during the month counted to 543 or 9.92 percent of the total registered births in Kalinga in 2024. On the other end, the lowest number of registered live births was recorded in February with 360 or 6.57 percent.

In 2024, it can be observed that the months of January, April, May and September posted higher daily average number of registered births than the provincial average.

Among the city/municipalities in the province, the highest number of registered births was recorded in the City of Tabuk in 2024. It comprised 3, 818 or 69.72 percent of the total births in Kalinga. Pinukpuk ranked second with 505 (9.22 percent) followed by Tinglayan with 283 (5.17 percent) and Rizal with 280 (5.11 percent).
On the other end, Pasil had the lowest number of registered births with 71 (1.30 percent) in 2024.

The Crude Birth Rate (CBR) in Kalinga in 2024 was computed at 23.85. This means that there were 24 live births per 1,000 persons in the province. The highest crude birth rate was computed in Tabuk City with 31.55 or 32 live births for every 1,000 persons in the city while the lowest was in Pasil with 6.71 or 7 live births for every 1,000 persons.

MARRIAGE STATISTICS

There were 1,250 marriages registered in 2024 showing an increase of 249 from the previous year’s registered figure of 1,001.

Half of the eight (8) city/municipalities have decreasing number of registered marriages in 2024. The biggest decrease was noted in the municipality of Balbalan from 95 to 48 marriages or 49.47 percent. The biggest increase was observed in the city of Tabuk from 487 to 818 marriages or 67.97 percent.

Tabuk City remained with the most number of registered marriages in the province. On the other end, the municipality of Tanudan posted the least number of registered marriages in 2024 with 22 (1.76 percent).

The month of January recorded the highest number of marriages in 2024 with a daily average of 5 marriages.

In 2024, the Crude Marriage Rate was 5 which means that there were five (5) marriages per 1,000 persons in the province. The highest Crude Marriage Rate was in the city of Tabuk with 6 followed by Lubuagan with 6 CMR. The municipality of Tanudan posted the lowest Crude Marriage Rate of 3.

DEATH STATISTICS

A total of 982 deaths in Kalinga were reported and registered in 2024. The figure indicated a decrease of 19.31 percent death occurrences from the 2023 figure of 1, 217.

The City of Tabuk ranked first in terms of the number of registered deaths in 2024 with 410 or almost half (41.75 percent) of the total registered deaths in the province. Balbalan placed second with 132 (10.38 percent) followed by Tinglayan with 123 or 12.52 percent.

On the other end, the municipality of Pasil posted the smallest number of registered deaths with 23 or 2.34 percent of the total number of registered deaths in Kalinga in 2024.

On the average, there was a daily occurrence of 3 deaths registered in 2024 in the province.

Mortality was as its peak in January 2024 with a total of 122 registered deaths. It was followed by September with 113 deaths. The month of May ranked third with 111 registered deaths. The smallest number of registered deaths was in November with 31.

Crude Death Rate (CDR) for 2024 was computed at 4 deaths per 1,000 persons in the province.

The highest Crude Death Rate was posted in the City of Tabuk City with 10. On the other hand, the smallest Crude Death Rate was recorded in Pasil with 2.
