Addressing the need for relevant and disaggregated data at the local level, the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB), through the Regional Division CAR, has compiled and released the first edition of the Countryside in Figures (CIF) for Abra Province in CD-ROM format.

 

The NSCB RDCAR has already prepared similar publications for the other provinces of the region. This maiden edition for Abra Province provides provincial data and municipal disaggregation of statistics, whenever available on various sectors, such as governance, income and expenditures, labor and employment, agriculture, education, health, infrastructure, finance and public order and safety. The twenty-seven municipalities of the province have been ranked according to these indicators and these rankings can be used as reference in comparing the performance of the municipalities in various areas of interest. The publication features sectoral highlights to guide our data users in their analysis.

 

We hope that this publication will serve the need for more comprehensive statistics that can be used in planning, decision-making and policy setting towards effective governance and public service at the local level.

 

This publication was made possible due to invaluable assistance of the Provincial Government of Abra, through the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), in coordinating the data collection at the provincial and municipal level.
