March 2019

As of 1 December 2018, the Philippines rice household stocks inventory was recorded at 1,527,174 metric tons (MT), this decreased by 6.7 percent as compared to the 1,636,526 MT of same month last year. In the Cordillera region, the household stocks inventory was estimated at 57,985 MT comprising 3.8 percent of the national household stocks. February 2019

In 2017, the country’s total production for broccoli, cabbage, carrots, habitchuelas, Chinese pechay, and white potato registered a combined output of 373,843.8 metric tons, slightly lower by 0.25 percent compared to the production in 2016 with 372,906.7 metric tons. Broccoli production went up by 10.5 percent nationwide in 2017. Cordillera contributed the biggest increase in production followed by Northern Mindanao, Central Visayas, Cagayan Valley and Davao Region. Crop production in CAR increased by 2.5 percent or 5,790.2 MT during first semester of 2018 compared to that of 229,629.8 MT during same period in 2017. June 2018

In 2017, the Philippines produced 19,276,347 metric mons (MT) of palay, harvested from a total area of 4,811,808 hectares (ha). The production increased by 9.4 percent (1,649,102 MT) compared to last year’s 17,627,245 MT. Central Luzon remained the top producer of palay among the regions, contributing the biggest share at 18.9 percent, followed by Cagayan Valley at 13.8 percent, and Western Visayas at 11.6 percent. On the other hand, Central Visayas produced the least at 1.7 percent, followed by CALABARZON at 2.1 percent, and Davao Region at 2.2 percent. Read more about 2017 Palay Performance in the Cordillera

January 2018

As of December 1, 2017, the Philippines rice household stocks inventory was recorded at 1,636,526 metric tons (MT), this decreased by 2.5 percent as compared to the 1,678,108 MT of same month last year. In the Cordillera region, the household stocks inventory was estimated at 58,174 MT comprising 3.6 percent of the national household stocks. This was 14.9 percent higher than of 2016 at 50,646 MT. October 2017

CAR remains as the primary producer cabbage, carrots and white potatoes The Philippines produced a total of 305,850 metric tons of cabbage, carrot, and white potato for the year 2016. The volume of production of these three crops decreased by 1.7% in 2016 as compared with the 311,269 metric tons output of 2015. Out of the total production, the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) contributed the biggest share at 82.9% or 253,404 metric tons, followed by Davao Region with 5% share or 15,297 metric tons, and Northern Mindanao at 4.5% or 13,629 metric tons.
